The dimensions of daily life in Bessarabia in the 1930s, such as the level of sanitary assistance, hygiene and health of the population described in the paper, illustrate the degree of modernization and civilization of rural and urban society. At the same time, the di´culties and achievements of the reference period are exposed, through the principles founded and supported by economic well-being, which can be a´rmed by creating decent social conditions for every member of the provincial communities. Thus, based on a methodical historical, quantitative and structural analysis, the problem, the degree of development and the achievements in the fields of health assistance and hygiene of the Bessarabian population and of the Moldavian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (RASSM) are described, these being outlined in close connection with the events in this time interval in history. These marked by certain important events, with the factors and causes that contributed to the process of modernizing the system of medical assistance, hygiene and health of the population in the cities and fairs of the province.
