Education was a priority area for the Romanian authorities. Knowledge of the Romanian Language, Romanian History and Geography were mandatory subjects for the entire education system. Kindergartens, primary, secondary (vocational) education, three conservatories were operating in Chisinau. There was state, private and family education. On the basis of unique historical ivories and specialized literature, a panorama of the primary and secondary (para-vocational) education of the second largest city of Romania as a whole is presented, according to the number of the population.
