According to the Fashion Transparency Index Brazil (ITMB, 2024, p. 42), racial inequality is a reality in the Brazilian fashion production chain. The sector faces several challenges regarding the representation of historically marginalized groups such as black and indigenous people. Through bibliographic and documentary research of the sustainability reports of three large Brazilian fashion retailers, this study aimed to verify the evolution of approaches to racial inclusion published between 2021 and 2023, observing that only from 2023 onwards did racial equality cease to be just a goal, but was disclosed in company positions and numbers.
