Analysis indicates potential for organic agriculture development in mountainous regions, highlighting the need to reduce reliance on genetically modified products.
The aim of the study is to analyze the factors that contribute to the development of organic agriculture in relation to the conditions of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic. The current situation and priority tasks for using the unique features of mountainous areas to involve them in the food production chain are analyzed to limit the current level of consumption of genetically modified products that lead to deterioration in human health and a reduction in their longevity. These problems are ignored by modern business due to the desire to extract the greatest profit from invested capital and the restraining factors of entrepreneurial activity. This does not fit into the modern concept of the "green economy" and is ignored by consumers themselves, both low-income and especially high-income, due to the ability to allocate funds to provide themselves with quality food. The work summarizes the current level of organic product production in the domestic market, ways to increase their volume based on cooperation and integration with the entrepreneurial sphere in other natural and economic zones. Taking into account the diversity of raw materials in mountainous areas, the list of possible organic products for home-grown production in private farms can be tailored to the individual needs of each buyer.
