Simulation analysis reveals the effectiveness of different assembly methods for preloaded connections, indicating their compliance with standard PN-EN 1090-2.
<ns3:p>The article presents the main methods of assembly of bolted assemblies for preloaded connections – the combined method, the torque method according to the PN-EN 1090-2 standard and the modified torque method according to DASt – Richtline 024. As part of the research, a simulation of assembly was carried out according to the above assembly procedures and connection parameters such as the angle of rotation, assembly torque and clamping force were determined. The relaxation of the bolted connection was also measured after each of the assembly steps. The obtained research results allowed for the assessment of the compliance of the preloaded connections with the PN-EN 1090-2 standard, as well as a comparison of assembly methods in terms of their ease of execution. This comparison can be the basis for a conscious selection of the optimal assembly method by designers and contractors of steel structures</ns3:p>
