Case report details successful excision of a challenging mediastinal mass, highlighting the intricacies of surgery.
A male in his early thirties was referred to us from another healthcare center after being diagnosed with a giant mediastinal mass located in the right hemithorax causing shifting of the mediastinum to the left. Our workup revealed that, the mass was adherent to the superior vena cava, azygous vein, pericardium, trachea, right main bronchus, right pulmonary artery, and descending aorta. The patient underwent right anterolateral mini-thoracotomy with successful excision of the mass without any injury to the surrounding vitals structures. The patient was discharged after an uneventful postoperative period. Histopathology showed a congenital bronchogenic cyst.
