Analysis reveals corruption in sports initiatives in Ukraine, indicating the media's vital role in exposing wrongdoing.
<ns3:p>This paper examines the role of the media in combating corruption in sports initiatives implemented by local authorities in Ukraine during wartime conditions. Through the analysis of recent cases and media monitoring data, the study reveals how corruption schemes in sports projects are executed through money laundering, tender manipulation, and non-transparent sponsorship agreements, particularly in large cities where public oversight is limited. The research demonstrates that while sports development remains crucial for community resilience during wartime, it can be exploited for corrupt practices when public access to information is restricted. The study highlights the emerging role of social media and independent journalism in exposing corruption, while noting challenges such as the spread of unverified information and emotionally charged narratives.</ns3:p>
