Computed tomography enhances diagnostic capabilities for dental and sinonasal disorders, highlighting 3D imaging benefits.
The major limitation of equine head radiography is that it produces a two-dimensional image of the equine head's anatomically complex, three-dimensional structures that have varying tissue densities. Superimposition of these adjacent structures can make radiographic interpretation difficult, especially when limited changes are present. Three-dimensional imaging by computed tomography can overcome this problem and is of great diagnostic value.
