The study identifies the need for basic general military training in national-patriotic education, indicating gaps in current programs.
The article substantiates the relevance of implementing basic general military training (BGMT) in the security-oriented and national-patriotic education lyceums of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) of Ukraine as a necessary stage in forming the professional readiness of future security sector specialists. The interdisciplinary nature of BGMT is defined, combining pedagogical, psychological, and security-related components. An analysis of modern scientific discourse, regulatory framework, and educational practice was conducted, which revealed the lack of a holistic unified training program for high school students. The results of an empirical study are presented, confirming the need to implement a modular educational model of BGMT, which includes patriotic education, psychological training, pre-medical assistance, and adapted forms of shooting-tactical training (shooting horting). The expediency of this model is justified in the context of modern challenges and legal constraints. The article concludes with the necessity of further development of regulatory, methodological, and staffing support for the full implementation of BGMT in the pre-university education system of the MIA of Ukraine.
