Mathematical model evaluates efficiency in vehicles, indicating impacts on engine and transmission designs.
The article proposes to evaluate the efficiency of a vehicle based on the vehicle's efficiency coefficient. A mathematical model was developed for calculating the efficiency of a vehicle, as well as its components: indicator and mechanical efficiency, transmission, wheel and suspension efficiency. The peculiarity of this model is the established relationship between the engine characteristics and the vehicle operating modes – the speed and load of the vehicle, and not with the fuel supply modes. The effect of changes in the efficiency of the internal combustion engine on the design features of the transmission and chassis of the vehicle was obtained. Graphic dependencies of changes in the indicator and mechanical efficiency at various gearbox transmissions were obtained. The results of experimental studies are presented, which show changes in efficiency from the technical condition of some vehicle systems. Recommendations, conclusions and ways of further research were formulated.
