Investigation shows pulsar radiation interacts with interstellar medium, suggesting effects of periodicity and interference on secondary spectra.
We investigate the interaction of pulsar radiation with the interstellar medium (ISM), focusing on the effects of periodicity and interference on secondary spectra. Pulsars, which emit beams of radiation, serve as probes for understanding ISM properties, as their radiation interacts with electron density irregularities, causing scintillations. Building on the Born approximation framework, we consider the influence of periodic scatterer arrangements and the impact of statistical scatterer distributions. Various scatterer distributions introduce damping effects in the secondary spectrum, linking the observed decay of structures to the statistical properties of the ISM.
