The publication, prepared by N.A. Lysenkov according to the documents of the Russian State Archive of Social and Political History, reveals the issues of South Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands becoming part of the USSR after the victory over Japan in 1946. A.I. Mikoyan, sent to the Far East, solved the problems of managing new territories and reported in telegrams to I.V. Stalin on the decisions taken.
