Abstract Research This aiming For know influence Application of Mind Mapping model based on interactive media to improvement skills write short story student in Indonesian language learning. Background study This based on the low results Study student in skills write short story consequence method lack of learning varies, as well as limited utilization of supporting learning media Power imagination and creativity student . Methods used in study This is experiment quasi experiment with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Research held at SMP UNISMUH Makassar in the year 2019/2020 academic year, with involving two classes VIII as subject research. Class experiment get treatment in the form of application of the Mind Mapping model based on interactive media, while class control use method learning conventional. The instruments used is test write short story in the form of a pretest and posttest which were analyzed in a way quantitative . Research result show that there is improvement skills write short stories that are significant to students class experiment compared to with class control. Average posttest score of the class experiment reached 83.5, while class control only reached 74.2. The t-test results showed mark significance of 0.001 < 0.05, which means there is significant difference between two groups. With Thus, the application of the Mind Mapping model based on interactive media proven effective in increase skills write short story student .
