Case report demonstrates successful salvage of an infected pseudoaneurysm in a patient awaiting renal transplant, suggesting a novel approach.
Fistula salvage has never been attempted in infected anastomotic pseudoaneurysms of native arteriovenous (AV) access. Majority of such patients present with bleeding which undergo excision of the pseudoaneurysm with ligation of vessel/reconstruction. We present a case of salvage of infected anastomotic pseudoaneurysm of brachiocephalic AV fistula using autogenous vein graft in a patient awaiting renal transplant.
