Case report details simultaneous management of infrarenal aortic aneurysm and lumbar vertebral fracture, highlighting clinical outcomes.
A 74-year-old gentleman with known coronary artery disease presented with acute onset back pain due to lumbar (L 3 ) vertebral body wedge compression fracture and incidentally found to have infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm measuring 6.5 cm × 6.2 cm in transverse plain. We performed simultaneous trans-abdominal aneurysmorraphy and anterior lumbar corpectomy with instrumented fusion. His postoperative course was uneventful. At 2 years’ follow-up, he is asymptomatic and doing fine. This case report depicts a rare combination of two separate pathologies managed simultaneously.
