Literature analysis demonstrates that natural products improve skin health in anti-aging, suggesting effective alternatives to traditional treatments.
The search for anti-aging products in the skincare industry is being driven by the desire for a more youthful and healthy appearance. The use of natural products has emerged as an alternative to conventional treatments, aligning with the contemporary trend of sustainable and safe beauty products. This study aims to explore the growing scientific evidence addressing the use of natural products in anti-aging. Methodology: An integrative literature review was conducted using the PubMed and SCIELO databases. Data collection took place between July and September 2023. Eight articles published from 2013 onwards, most of them in reputable scientific journals, were selected. Two thematic categories were identified: “Natural Products in Anti-Aging” and “Skin Aging: Changes in the Skin Over Time.” Natural products showed potential in combating aging by acting as antioxidants and regulators of metabolic pathways. Furthermore, biocellulose facial masks and products based on curcumin and natural rubber were also highlighted as promising in the field. Conclusion: The use of natural products in anti-aging offers an effective and safe approach to addressing skin changes associated with aging. Natural ingredients, such as antioxidants and plant extracts, have demonstrated a positive impact on skin health and youthfulness. Additionally, scientific research in this field plays a crucial role in the evolution of the skincare industry by providing evidence-based solutions that align with the pursuit of more sustainable and healthy products.
