Observational analysis reduces carbon dioxide emissions in SMEs, highlighting the role of energy efficiency measures.
This study introduces a data‐driven framework to enhance energy efficiency in small and medium‐sized enterprises (SMEs) through targeted interventions and the application of diagnostic tools such as the MEASUR Tool Suite. By addressing inefficiencies in compressed air systems and lighting, the study demonstrates how even modest investments can yield substantial benefits. At the Authorized Vehicle Dealer and Service, implementing Variable Speed Drives and maintenance practices resulted in 48.8% energy savings, 8 tons of annual CO 2 reduction, and over $3000 in cost savings. Similarly, the EGEBANT Şanlıurfa Factory achieved annual savings of 468,448 kWh, 155 tons of CO 2 reduction, and $56,068 in financial savings through compressor optimization. These case studies illustrate the transformative impact of data‐driven energy efficiency strategies. The research also underscores the importance of supportive policies—such as low‐interest loans, grants, and tax incentives—in encouraging SME participation, aligning with Turkey's II. National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (2024–2030), which targets a 16% reduction in primary energy consumption. Widespread adoption could reduce carbon emissions by 1 million tons annually and create ~50,000 new jobs in energy services and technology sectors by 2030, contributing to a more sustainable and competitive industrial landscape.
