Improved modulation method boosts performance and reduces harmonic distortion in an indirect matrix converter, indicating potential for industrial applications.
This work introduces an improved delta‐sigma modulation () method utilized in an indirect matrix converter (IMC) intended to supply numerous loads at varying frequencies. The proposed system combines the operation of a static resistive‐inductive (RL) load and a dynamic permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) load. The IMC topology obviates the necessity for intermediary energy storage components, facilitating a compact and efficient power conversion system. The approach guarantees superior output waveforms, less harmonic distortion, and precise motor speed and torque regulation. The study discusses the system's robustness under many operating situations and its applicability in industrial contexts. This research presents substantial progress in power electronics and drives systems, especially in contexts necessitating varying frequency mixed‐load operation with reduced harmonic distortion. A thorough study and simulation outcomes demonstrate the efficacy of the suggested method in meeting the specific operational requirements of both static and dynamic loads. The study's real‐time implementation was successfully validated using the OPAL‐RT (OP4510) real‐time simulator, confirming its practical feasibility and performance verification.
