Kinetic analysis reveals phase velocity changes in dust acoustic waves based on non-thermality parameters, suggesting implications for plasma environments.
The real frequency () and Landau damping rate () of dust acoustic waves propagating in a plasma containing Cairns bi‐Maxwellian distributed electrons, ions and negatively charged dust grains are investigated applying kinetic theory approach under the condition . The effect of non‐thermality parameter () and electron to ion equilibrium density ratio on the phase velocity of DAWs are presented. The phase velocity increases with increasing spectral index and decreases as decreases. The Landau damping rate is found to enhance with increasing value of and . The damping rate shifts to lower values with increasing dust temperatures . The results of the present study can be reduced to the usual Maxwellian case in the limit . Our model is applicable in the limit of space dusty environment specially to Saturan E and G rings.
