Research reveals gaps in forensic science practices and investigator skills in crime investigation, suggesting improvements.
This study examines the practices and challenges of forensic science in the West Showa Zone Police Organization. It assesses current forensic investigation trends, identifies major techniques used, and explores key challenges in crime investigation. Despite forensic science's critical role, gaps exist in investigator skills, forensic tool availability, and personnel expertise. A mixed research approach with descriptive design was employed, utilizing primary and secondary data sources. Findings indicate a lack of forensic tools, low investigative skills, and insufficient training. The study recommends enhanced forensic tool application, skill development, and regular training for investigators.
