Case report describes extensive thermal and chemical injuries from hot dye, suggesting careful management is essential.
Hot dye burns are a rare but potentially serious form of thermal and chemical injuries that can result from contact with hot dye substances. We present the case report of a 45-year-old male who sustained hot dye burns to his body following an accidental spillage of boiling dye during a textile manufacturing process. The patient presented to the emergency department with extensive burns and was managed with prompt cooling, wound care, and surgical intervention later on. Regular cleaning and dressing was done on alternate days under all aseptic precautions, eventually the dye was cleared from the skin. Approximately 3%–4% of the total body surface area burn was not healed and required STSG, which was healed as well.
