Novel aliovalent substitution boosts ionic conductivity in solid-state lithium-ion batteries, indicating improved performance.
We report a novel chemical aliovalent substitution strategy that induces lithium vacancy generation, expands 3D Li+ migration channels, and reduces activation energy. The optimized composition Li1.8Zr0.8Nb0.2Cl6 achieves a room-temperature ionic conductivity twice higher than that of pristine Li2ZrCl6, realizing stable cycling in all-solid-state lithium-ion batteries.
