Experimental investigation shows improved faradaic efficiency and ammonia yield using high-entropy Fe/Mn mixed phases in carbon fibers, indicating potential advancements in electrosynthesis.
Electrosynthesis of ammonia from nitrate is very promising. Herein, spatially-confined high-entropy building block-like Fe/Mn mixed phases species were integrated into porous carbon nanofibers for electrosynthesis of ammonia, affording a yield of 35.6 ± 1.1 mg h-1 mgcat-1 and a faradaic efficiency of 91.8 ± 2.8% at -1.1 V vs. RHE.
