INTRODUCTION For 80 years, community water fluoridation (CWF) has contributed to dramatic improvement in US oral health. However, recent literature and court decisions have called its safety into question. Additionally, 2 US states: Florida and Utah, just banned CWF, adding to the confusion. We aim to update pediatricians’ understanding of CWF benefits and risks so that they may appropriately counsel families.
