Qualitative literature review highlights the role of ethics in business sustainability, implying need for corporate guidelines.
Ethics are a guide to behavior as a differentiator between right and wrong. Business ethics programs in companies are useful for ensuring employees do the right things. The purpose of the study was to find out how ethics play a role in business sustainability and what should be considered in business ethics. The method used in this study is a qualitative method through the Literature Review design. According to the findings of the study, ethics are very important to maintain the coherence of company choices. Corporate ethics serve as the main guideline for implementing choices related to corporate sustainability activities while facing the diversity of cultures, beliefs, and traditions of each country. The conclusion of this study is that ethics play an important role as a barrier so that actions taken do not lead to illegal actions or fraud, so that ethical practices can minimize risks that may disrupt the company's operational activities and in this modern world if ethics in business is not implemented optimally, it is feared that the role of humans in business sustainability will be replaced by machines or technology.
