Case report highlights excisional biopsy and reconstruction of eyelid, showing benign tumor findings.
Chondroid syringoma (CS) is a benign mixed tumor that arises from sweat glands, which can be either apocrine or eccrine in origin. This report discusses a cases of CS located on the lower eyelid of a 53 years old male. Patients presented with well-defined lesions in the mid region of the lower eyelid and underwent excisional biopsy with reconstruction of lower lid by Tenzel semicircular flap. Histopathological examination revealed the left eye lower lid mass as benign CS. CS is a rare cause of benign eyelid tumors, and incomplete excision of these tumors may lead to recurrence or even malignant transformation.
