Analysis demonstrates effective health status assessment using an AHP algorithm for weighing years, highlighting safety and reliability.
In this study, estimation of weights of years for health status assessment of Seabulk Niger submersible pump is conducted. The concept of Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) algorithm is utilized for effective and comprehensive pairwise comparison of years for health status assessment of Seabulk Niger submersible pump under investigation in the weight estimation exercise. The operating hours of the pump and metocean condition are considered in estimation of the weight for year of health status assessment of Seabulk Niger submersible pump per annum. The operational hours data and associated metocean condition are derived from Seabulk Niger submersible pump databook. This research found weights of consecutive Years 1-3 for health status assessment of Seabulk Niger submersible pump as 0.623, 0.239 and 0.138 respectively. The obtained weights can be used for prioritization of the years under investigation and facilitation of hybridization of predicted health status of the Seabulk Niger submersible pump in 3 years for improvement of the system’s safety and reliability level. This research can serve as a platform for marine engineers onboard the Seabulk Niger with domain knowledge to make rational decision in planning of repair and maintenance of the submersible pump.
