The research aims to identify the specific features of Swiss national architecture at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries within the context of pan-European trends in the Art Nouveau style. The article examines the characteristic features of architectural structures in various cantons of Switzerland and explores the specific characteristics of architectural decoration in the context of the aesthetics of European symbolism. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the fact that the author of the article for the first time in Russian science has conducted an art-historical analysis of Swiss Art Nouveau architecture from the point of view of its national-stylistic aspect. As a result of the analysis, conclusions are drawn about the diversity of European influences on Swiss architecture of the Art Nouveau era and, simultaneously, about the self-sufficiency and uniqueness of buildings in this style.
