This analysis shows the role of dialogicity in fictional dialogues, emphasizing Tchaikovsky’s character relationships and artistic techniques.
The study aims to substantiate the defining significance of the principle of dialogicity in A. V. Tchaikovsky’s musical-dramatic performance “Derzhavin” (2024). The main focus is on fictional dialogues and the features of their creative implementation. The scientific novelty is due to the fact that this work by a contemporary Russian composer is becoming an object of musicological research for the first time. As a result, it is revealed that the principle of dialogicity directly determines the specifics of the content and artistic embodiment of the work. Dialogicity manifests itself at different levels of the composition under study, but is most demonstrably represented in the relationship of the main characters – outstanding historical figures, poets of two eras – G. R. Derzhavin and A. S. Pushkin. Their fictional dialogues, including those embodied through the correlation of fragments of poetic works, are the basis of the musical-dramatic performance.
