Community-based initiative improves business visibility and financial management in women-led microenterprises, suggesting effective strategies for growth.
This community service initiative aimed to empower the women-led microenterprise "Jajanan Mama Ibrahim" in Samarinda, through targeted interventions addressing critical business challenges. The program focused on three key areas: (1) assisting with SIUP (Business License) registration to ensure legal compliance, (2) providing financial literacy training to improve daily and monthly bookkeeping, and (3) creating promotional materials, specifically a flyer, to boost business visibility. Using a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, the project involved close collaboration with the business owner in designing and implementing practical solutions. The intervention successfully facilitated SIUP acquisition via the OSS system, improving legal status and access to formal financial support. Financial training helped the owner track income, manage expenses, and identify profitable products. The flyer increased customer engagement and led to a 20–30% sales rise during peak hours. Overall, the initiative enhanced operational capacity and demonstrated the effectiveness of community-based strategies for informal women-led business development.
