Community service demonstrates improved conservation skills in the Botohilitano indigenous community, indicating effective integration of local wisdom with natural science.
Community service aims to integrate the concepts of natural science (IPA) with local wisdom in the management of natural resources. The main focus of this activity is the application of IPA material on pressure and high jumps in the practice of environmental conservation based on the Hombo Batu tradition in the Botohilitano indigenous community. Through a participatory approach, the community is provided with practical lessons on applying the principles of physics in natural resource management, such as regulating water pressure in irrigation and using energy in physical activities related to the Hombo Batu tradition. The results of this community service show that the community increasingly understands the relationship between natural science and their local wisdom, as well as being able to apply practical skills in sustainable environmental conservation efforts. The integration of IPA with local wisdom enriches knowledge and raises awareness in the community about the importance of maintaining the balance of nature through both scientific and traditional approaches.
