Analysis shows Internet use improves employment quality and common prosperity in farmers, suggesting the need for enhanced digital literacy.
Based on the data of 3965 sample farmers in China Family Panel Survey (CFPS) Datab-ase in 2020, the endogenous switching regression model (ESR), the intermediary effect model an-d the threshold effect model are used to empirically analyze the impact and mechanism of Internet use on the common prosperity of farmers. The research results show that: (1) Internet use has signi-ficantly improved the common prosperity of farmers. (2) Internet use promotes the common pros-perity of farmers by improving employment quality. (3) The impact of Internet use on the commo-n prosperity of farmers displays stage characteristics due to variations in individuals' digital literac-y. Based on the above conclusions, it is recommended to speed up the construction of rural digital infrastructure, reduce the cost of Internet use for farmers, improve farmers' digital literacy, expan-d farmers' employment opportunities, and improve the quality of farmers' employment, so as to eff-ectively promote farmers to achieve common prosperity.
