A novel lantern-like Cu( i ) cluster [Cu 8 (2-pyCC) 6 ( N -triphos Ph ) 2 ](PF 6 ) 2 (Cu8) was synthesized, with mixed multidentate ligands to enhance its overall stability. Cu8 exhibits excellent red multi-responsive luminescence and is employed for the construction of OLEDs with an EQE of 14.3% at 500 cd m −2 .
