Evaluation of ZIF-8's adsorption capacity for heavy metals in mining effluents, indicating effective filtration methods.
The study of zeolites has aroused a growing interest due to their physical and chemical properties that are used in the refining of hydrocarbons in the oil industry, as well as in the removal of heavy metals, in the mining industry. The present work focused on the evaluation of the adsorption capacity of ZIF-8 in cations of Zn, Mn, Mg and other metals present in mining tailings water. Finally, the adsorption values obtained were between 33.88% (for boron) up to 98.88% (for arsenic), these results being compared by two other methods.
