Amali Da’wah Programme is a field-based educational platform organized by the Institute of Islamic Studies and Da'wah Sabah (IPDAS) with the aim of providing students with real exposure to carrying out da'wah responsibilities directly within the community. In realizing this program, students are required to apply the knowledge acquired throughout their studies when engaging with society. They must also be strategic and wise in formulating da'wah approaches so that the messages delivered are well-received by the community. Despite thorough preparation prior to entering the da'wah field, challenges and constraints inevitably arise throughout the implementation process. Therefore, this study aims to explore the challenges and strategies of da'wah implementation faced by participants of the IPDAS 2024 Practical Da'wah Program, conducted in the Beaufort district of Sabah. This study employed a qualitative methodology through semi-structured interviews and document analysis related to the program's implementation. The findings indicate that the primary challenges encountered include communication barriers between ethnic groups, lack of resources and facilities, as well as the need for deeper understanding of the local cultural context. Nevertheless, approaches such as da'wah bil hal, fardiyyah da'wah, da’wah bil lisan and direct involvement in community activities have proven effective in enhancing public understanding and acceptance of the Islamic message. It is hoped that the challenges and implementations experienced by students in this program can serve as a benchmark and guidance for future da'wah practitioners.
