This research reveals novel coupling between bimeron and ferroelectricity, suggesting potential for tunable multiferroic devices.
Topological spin textures with nontrivial physical properties tunable via the magnetoelectric effect holds significant promise for advancing multiferroic devices. Here a novel mechanism is proposed enabling strong coupling between bimeron and ferroelectricity in 2D hexagonal lattice, thereby establishing the concept of magnetoelectric bimeron. Through symmetry analysis, it is unveiled that arising from the coupling between ferroelectric order and Dzyaloshinskii‐Moriya interaction chirality, the topological charge of bimeron can be readily reversed via ferroelectric switching, which stabilizes two energetically degenerate topological phases. Remarkably, ferroelectrically driven creation and annihilation of bimeron are achieved through controlled ferroelectric‐antiferroelectric phase transition. Combining first‐principles calculations and atomistic spin simulations, this mechanism is validated in monolayer CuV₂I₆, identifying it as an exemplary platform for magnetoelectric bimeron realization. A comprehensive investigation of magnetic field responses and critical magnetic parameters further reveals robust tunability of the magnetoelectric bimeron. This work establishes an unprecedented paradigm for electrically manipulating topological magnetism.
