Implementation of a reactovigilance system improves device safety in hospitals, indicating a proactive risk management approach.
Pharmacovigilance, and more specifically reactovigilance, plays a crucial role in managing risks associated with healthcare delivery in hospital settings. Reactovigilance encompasses all operations aimed at preventing or correcting incidents or potential incidents related to the use of in vitro diagnostic medicaldevices. This study proposes the implementation of a reactovigilance system within a hospital pharmacy. The system enables prevention and correction of any device-related incidents or risks through risk minimization measures. The proposed framework highlights essential tools for identifying, analyzing, and addressing anomalies, including a decision flowchart and a reactovigilance notification form.
