Quantitative analysis identifies key factors for transport infrastructure quality, suggesting improvements in An Giang.
Enahncing transport infrastructure through investment and implementation of projects on the development of transport infrastructure contributes to creating favorable conditions for regional connectivity, which is an essential driving force to promote socio-economic development of the economy of each locality in particular and the country and the region in general. Therefore, this study aims to develop a set of overall perceived quality factors for developing the inspection process of transport infrastructure projects. This study used a quantitative research method by surveying 250 citizens residing in the areas surrounding main transport infrastructure projects in An Giang province. Data was analyzed to assess the current situation of these main projects and propose solutions to improve the quality of the projects through exploratory factor analysis. The results of the study show that there are seven main factors for evaluating the overall perceived quality of transport infrastructure projects. These factors include construction implementation, land acquisition, construction materials, construction facilities, contractors, professional ethics, and environmental impacts. In particular, some aspects are not highly appreciated and require much improvement, including ensuring construction safety, minimizing environmental impacts, and improving contractors’ incident response capacity. The study also emphasizes the importance of complying with legal regulations in implementing transport infrastructure projects, improving compensation processes for land acquisition and environmental incidents, and enhancing construction quality inspection. In addition, factors such as professional ethics and leadership modeling in project management must be focused on to ensure sustainability and efficiency when the project is implemented. This result provides a scientific foundation for providing solutions to improve transport infrastructure quality, meet trade needs, and promote socio-economic development.
