Experimental evaluation uncovers enzymatic activity in dispersed soils, highlighting methodological gaps.
The enzymatic activity of dispersed soils is one of the important indicators of their biotic properties. However, these issues are rather poorly reflected in both educational and scientific literature on soil science and environmental geology. In the article, based on brief information on enzymes, their groups, the mechanism of catalytic action, the sources of enzymes entering dispersed soils are considered. The features of catalytic activity depending on the degree of connection with soil components are analyzed. The main methodological features of assessing enzymatic activity are analyzed. The literary data on the values of enzymatic activity for various types of dispersed soils are summarized. Information on the activity values obtained on the basis of the authors’ own experimental studies is provided. The tasks for further studies of the enzymatic activity of dispersed soils have been determined.
