Finite element analysis clarifies shear bonding strength and residual stress in bimetallic tubes, suggesting optimal process parameters.
In order to improve the forming quality, finite element analysis was carried out on the stress-strain, shear bonding strength, wall thickness, and residual contact stress of 30CrMnSiA/304 bimetallic composite tube. The results show that the force of the base pipe is always much greater than that of the liner during the forming process, and the shear stress value of the base pipe is greater than that of the liner shear stress. The influence of each process parameter on the residual stress between the pipes is the percent thickness reduction> temperature > feed rate, and the reasonable range of process parameters is determined through the simulation results. On the basis of simulation analysis, the spinning process test was carried out, the bonding effect between the bimetallic tubes was verified by the shear strength test of the bimetallic tubes, and the optimal process parameters were determined. The temperature was 800°C, and the feed rate was 0.4mm/r. The percent thickness reduction was 25%, and the shear bonding strength of the bimetallic composite tube was the highest under this process parameter.
