Analysis reveals substantial geothermal resources in metamorphic rock reservoirs in Jiyang Depression, suggesting potential for energy development.
The research on geothermal resources in the Jiyang Depression of the Bohai Bay Basin is currently mainly focused on the high porosity and permeability Guantao Formation and Dongying Formation, while there is relatively little research on deep metamorphic rock geothermal resources. This study analyzed the metamorphic rock type geothermal reservoirs in the Jiyang Depression from the perspectives of geothermal geological conditions, thermal reservoirs characteristics, and geothermal field. Based on geological modeling, the geothermal resources of Wangzhuang Oilfield in Zhengjia buried hill were evaluated. The results showed that Wangzhuang Oilfield has a large amount of Archaean metamorphic rock thermal reservoirs resources (5.57 x 1018 J below 6 km), and is currently in the late stage of oil and gas development, with a large amount of water and potential for geothermal resource development and utilization.
