Systematic review reveals employee readiness and engagement are vital for successful technology adoption.
Digital transformation acts as a lever for redefining ways of working, going far beyond the simple introduction of new technological tools. And therein lies the challenge: the ability of employees to embrace these changes and integrate them into their working environment. This chapter focuses on an aspect that is often overlooked in digital transformation projects: the actual place of employees in the technology adoption process. Through an analysis of 44 scientific articles listed in Scopus. One thing is clear: without the active involvement of employees, digital transformation loses its scope and remains largely unachieved. Employee readiness is a key success factor in digital transformation initiatives (Susanti & al.2023). Alignment between IT capabilities and employee engagement is decisive, companies that are able to align IT capabilities with employee engagement will be more likely to succeed, (Nwankpa & Roumani. 2016). This chapter offers an integrative reading of these contributions, and discusses the human levers of successful integration of AI and digital transformation.
