Case report demonstrates effective behavioral treatment for persistent hiccups in patients, suggesting supragastric belching as a key factor.
In patients with persistent hiccups, the presence of belching suggests an upper gastrointestinal cause. If symptoms resolve with open‐mouth breathing at the bedside, supragastric belching may be noninvasively suspected; allowing effective behavioral treatment and potentially reducing the need for further investigations.
