Proposed Fuzzy Elliptic Curve Cryptography scheme improved communication and security in VANETs, highlighting enhanced authentication and trust management.
Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) support intelligent transportation but face challenges like authentication attacks and high communication delays. This paper proposes a Fuzzy Elliptic Curve Cryptography-based Privacy-Preserving Message Authentication and PROMETHEE-based Trust Management (FECCPTM) scheme for fog-enabled VANETs. The approach enhances node and message authentication while ensuring data privacy in fog-enabled environments. By combining ECC, fuzzy logic, and PROMETHEE, the scheme ensures secure, adaptive, and trusted communication. Simulation results show that FECCPTM improves packet delivery rate by 19.82%, detection rate by 21.28%, reduces delay by 17.96%, and lowers control packet transmission by 19.62% compared to baseline methods. These improvements confirm FECCPTM as a lightweight, privacy-preserving solution for secure message and node authentication in dynamic vehicular environments.
