Systematic literature review examines fire protection systems and hazards in coffee processing facilities, highlighting key challenges.
Coffee processing facilities in highland locations such as Takengon and Bener Meriah in Aceh, Indonesia, confront specific issues relating to fire hazards. The hazards in coffee processing facilities in high land areas include flames, sparks, hot objects, flammable chemicals, chemical accelerants, combustible dust, electrical appliances, heating, smoking, and improper storage of flammable materials. These concerns underline the significance of establishing appropriate fire safety measures in coffee processing facilities situated in highland locations, including the provision of fire protection systems, correct storage and handling of combustible materials, and regular maintenance of equipment and machinery. This study intends to address the technical developments and problems in fire safety in coffee processing facilities situated in highland locations. The research involves a systematic literature review (SLR) of the current innovations in fire safety engineering, with a special emphasis on highland locations. The study also explores the obstacles in choosing and deploying fire protection systems in coffee processing facilities. The intended goals of this research are to develop guidelines for the selection and operation of fire prevention systems in coffee processing facilities in highland regions that are effective, efficient, and consistent with regulations and codes
