Proposed method identifies faults and tracks conditions using transient information during arc suppression.
The existing fault development tracking and detection technology in resonant grounding system is independent of the arc suppression process, which is mainly reflected in the aspects that the use of arc suppression state information is ignored in the fault detection and the transition resistance fluctuation is unable to be accurately identified and tracked during the process of arc suppression. In order to solve the problem of coordination between fast arc suppression and sensitive fault detection in resonant grounding system, a real‐time fault tracking and fast faulty feeder identification method based on arc suppression state information after full compensation of arc suppression coil is proposed in this paper. A dynamic circuit analysis model is established to characterise the tuning action of arc suppression coil, and the changing law of zero‐sequence parameters under different transition resistances during the transient process of arc suppression is revealed. The rapid identification of transition resistance, real‐time tracking of fault degree and faulty feeder identification methods are proposed based on the transient components of zero‐sequence voltage and current. Simulation result proves that the method is effective, which provides an original idea for fault tracking and detection in resonant grounding system.
