Optimal design method improves harmonic suppression and system stability in grid-connected inverters, suggesting MOGA is effective.
LCL filter has been widely used in grid-connected inverter system because of its excellent high-frequency harmonic suppression ability. However, the parameter design of LCL filter involves many mutually restrictive factors, such as THD, filter volume, power loss, cost and system stability, and it is difficult for traditional empirical design methods to achieve the best balance among these performance indicators. To solve this problem, this paper proposes an optimal design method of LCL filter based on multi-objective genetic algorithm (MOGA). Firstly, the mathematical model of LCL filter is established, and the optimization objectives are defined from frequency domain and time domain, including harmonic suppression effect, loss and the influence of filter parameters on system stability. The effectiveness of the proposed method is verified by MATLAB/Simulink analysis, and compared with the traditional design method. The results show that the optimization strategy can effectively reduce the grid-side current THD, optimize the filter volume and power loss, improve the stability and adaptability of the system, and help to improve the overall performance and engineering application value of the grid-connected inverter system.
