Pilot research identifies linguistic and stylistic traits in user texts on social media, implying unique engagement methods.
The object of the pilot study is to identify the features of creating user texts on social media pages. Using the methods of interviewing students and analyzing posts, it was possible to form an empirical base for the work: 120 responses and 40 personal accounts of students from various faculties of Lomonosov Moscow State University. The linguistic, semantic, structural, and stylistic features of student user texts were characterized, and the main trends were noted. The authors conclude that modern publications are a concise and laconic text, but at the same time informative. In conditions of information overload, the meaning, the very essence, is primarily important to the reader. It was found that special speech constructions are used to facilitate texts, and emotional coloring is given over. The ways that users apply to keep readers’ attention are highlighted
