The article deals with the negotiation process as an effective tool in professional speech communication. The difference between ‘communication’ and communication’ is pointed out. The main characteristics of the negotiation process, its stages and classification are disclosed. Special attention is paid to modern trends of communication: digitalization and globalization, in connection with which new platforms for communication appear, but the key role in business communication continues to be played by the oral format. The factors that complicate speech interaction are singled out separately: language consciousness, cultural context, peculiarities of oral communication. The differences between the views on the structure of negotiations of domestic and foreign researchers are investigated. As a result, the relationship between the negotiation process and professional speech communication was revealed: in this connection, the first element plays the role of a tool for more effective interaction between subjects, allowing the subjects of communication to develop a variant that maximizes the interests of each party.
