This article examines the thematic-plot, compositional-plastic, and stylistic features of easel graphic works by Altai artists of the 1960s-1980s, related to the specificity of Altai as a cultural and geographical zone. The aim of the article is to identify the regional artistic features of Altai easel graphic art of the late Soviet period. The novelty of the research stems from the fact that the work presents the first comprehensive analysis of Altai easel graphic art from the 1960s-1980s, revealing its specific features, internal trends, and the influence of the regional context on artistic practice. The research has established that: 1) under the influence of Altai's natural landscapes, a specific typology of landscape formed in easel graphic art of the 1960s-1980s: mountainous, plain Altai, as well as the border zone between these two territories; 2) the formation of the unique appearance of Altai graphic art was influenced by a multitude of factors, the main ones being the natural landscape of the area and the culture (everyday life, customs, rituals, ornamental tradition) of the Turkic peoples of Altai; 3) in the easel graphic art of Altai in the late Soviet period, two lines of development of the figurative-plastic language of artistic works were developed: a realistic one, based on the traditions of the Russian realistic landscape school, and a symbolic-realistic one, formed under the influence of national traditions of the indigenous population of Altai.
